Morning Update by Rush Limbaugh

Well, Congress is back in session, and Democrats wasted no time showing us what they’re made of.

California Senator Barbara Boxer joined forces with a few far-left kook members of the House, led by John Conyers of Michigan, to disrupt the normally routine process of ratifying the results of the November election. At issue: the Ohio vote, which President Bush won handily — without question. Unless, of course, you happen to be a sore-losing, conspiracy-believing, tin-foil-hat-wearing, nut-job kook — who believes John Kerry was cheated out of his victory by President Bush’s oppressive political machine.

This effort to disrupt the ratification accomplished absolutely nothing — except to highlight how low Democrats will stoop in a feeble attempt to embarrass the duly elected President.

Then: the hearing. Alberto Gonzalez’s nomination for Attorney General. Democrats used the hearings in an attempt to “criminalize” President Bush’s prosecution of the war on terror — by way of Abu Ghraib, and to make sure terrorists be accorded rights and protections they’re not entitled to under the Geneva Conventions.

So you see my friends, Democrats are getting their message out. Message one: “We are tin-foil hat wearing kooks”; Message two: “We want to give terrorists every single civil liberty and right in their attempt to destroy our country — especially if we can smear the President in the process.” Oh yeah — “And by the way — we don’t like this idea of high-ranking Hispanics in the legal system unless they’re OUR Hispanics!” That's the message we got from the Democrats yesterday.
